UPGRADE YOUR RV’S HOUSE BATTERY TO LITHIUM

AND UNLOCK THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM OF OFF-GRID EXPLORATION

WHY UPGRADE YOUR RV’S HOUSE BATTERY TO LITHIUM?

Count on doubling your off-grid run time at a minimum, and in many instances a 4X increase in runtime can be achieved without any additional space requirements for your new battery system.

If you're running your generator once per day or more to recharge your house batteries this upgrade is an absolute must for you. You'll most likely go from running your generator everyday to once every 3 days, which is a big deal. This capacity rule applies to all Lead Acid installations. So if you're currently getting 2-3 days out of your system upgrading to Lithium will net you 4-6 days minimum; which is getting into that "not running the generator for the entire trip" territory.

Additionally, Lithium batteries are extremely durable and last an extremely long time. Lithium batteries are far more tolerant to deep discharge situations than Lead Acid, and their cycle life is 5X-8X better than Lead Acid. A Lithium battery installation will probably last the life of your RV.

WHAT GOES INTO UPGRADING TO LITHIUM?

Changing your RV's house batteries from Lead Acid over to Lithium isn’t as simple as dropping in a new battery. Lithium batteries are an entirely different chemistry, which means they operate within a different functional voltage range. If you were install a new Lithium battery into your old system all the hardware in your RV responsible for managing that battery would still think its dealing with Lead Acid, and it would ruin your fancy new battery.

To get a Lithium battery to work in a RV originally designed to operate on Lead Acid requires changes and/or modifications to all the components in the electrical system associated with charging and regulating the house batteries and isolating house batteries from the starter battery. This includes Power Inverters, Power Converters, Battery Isolation Managers, Solar Chargers, Alternator Chargers, and the wiring between all of it.

Considering that all RV brands and models are built differently with different electrical components and different wiring, each RV must be evaluated independently to determine which components need to be addressed.

WHY CHOOSE WORKS ELECTRIC FOR THIS UPGRADE?

This upgrade is pretty technical, as the change in battery chemistry requires adjustments many components in your RV's electrical system. Unfortunately there's no standard in the RV world on how these systems go together, so every RV requires a specialized approach to integrating this new battery type into your RV's electrical system. Some RV's require changes to circuit isolators, some require reprogramming the inverter, some require upgrading the power converter, and some require all of the above. As such, the individual making these upgrades to your RV needs to be more than just a wrencher or service tech, they need to be a specialist with a thorough understanding of electrical circuitry and a thorough awareness of the cutting-edge technology available, which is exactly what you get with Works Electric.

If you choose to go with a big box retailer for these upgrades you'll pay through the nose and they'll provide you with generic “drop in” components designed to minimize technical integrations and reduce man hours. Most of the time these ‘drop in” components are not the best choices available, they’re simply what the manufacture had originally chosen to keep production costs low. With Works Electric you'll get a premium system catered specifically to your RV's unique electrical system. We source highest quality components from manufactures such as Victron Energy and we go the extra mile modifying spaces to accommodate these components to ensure you get the best system possible for the money.
